Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) is a highly effective weatherization product that is playing an important role in our nationwide effort to dramatically increase the energy efficiency of our homes, schools and buildings. Spray applicators and other on-site workers, as well as Do-it-Yourself applicators and the consumer, need to understand that proper protective equipment and other precautions are essential to safe installation of these materials, and that without proper protections, exposures to the spray during installation could result in asthma and other health effects.
The Environmental Protection Agency is pleased to host a special federal and industry panel discussion on the safe use of SPF.
An expert panel will address cutting-edge best practices and emerging SPF issues of interest to the building, construction, and weatherization industries; government officials, including school administrators; and consumers.
A question and answer session with the federal and industry experts will follow the panel presentations.
Panel participants include:
- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
- U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration
- National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
- U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
- American Chemistry Council’s Center for Polyurethanes Industry
- Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance
