The Prairie Research Institute Library is a loan location for “Resources Trunks” distributed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Each trunk is a collection of educational resources, including specimens, books, kits, and activities appropriate for a wide age-range of learners. Any educator, including classroom teachers, Scout or 4H leaders and project helpers, may borrow a trunk. If you work with children, you may borrow a trunk. You do not need to be affiliated with the Institute or the University to borrow a trunk, and there is no charge. Trunks available at the Prairie Research Institute Library are:
- Illinois Fossils
- Illinois Invasive Species
- Illinois Trees
To reserve one of these trunks, contact the Institute Library desk.
To see a list of all trunks available and their lending locations, see Teacher Resources on the IDNR website.
